Trust Wallet said it fixed a major vulnerability in its core wallet software library.

Trust Wallet announced that it has fixed the vulnerability in its core wallet software. Due to the vulnerability, the company lost 170,000 dollars of user funds as a result of an attack.

Trust Wallet discovered and resolved a major WebAssembly (WASM) vulnerability that affected wallet addresses generated via the browser extension between 14-23 November 2022. The team explained that this vulnerability caused several users to lose approximately $170k.

The discovered vulnerability existed in the core software library that uses the WASM format when users generate wallet addresses via the browser extension. “Most of the funds at risk are secured,” the Trust Wallet project said on Twitter, with the statement “Fixed the issue.”
