Representative Patrick McHenry announced that he will meet in May for the crypto legislation being studied.
Representative Patrick McHenry, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, said that he and the agriculture panel will meet in May as they work on crypto legislation.
Law to be Enacted for Crypto Supervision in the US
President Representative Patrick McHenry stated that the US House Financial Services Committee and the House Agriculture Committee will hold joint public hearings from May. After the hearings, he said he will pass legislation to oversee the crypto industry in the next two months.
When asked if such a bill would be signed by President Joe Biden in the next 12 months, McHenry said yes at an event he attended.
McHenry said in his statements:
“What we plan to do in the next two months is to notify a deal. The bill will address both securities and commodity regimes and issues that are hard to fix on both sides.”
After the events in the USA last year, crypto regulations are on the agenda. However, with the MiCa adopted in the EU in the past weeks, crypto regulations are becoming widespread around the world.
