The largest US cryptocurrency exchange is examining how AI can cost-effectively improve customers’ experiences. In a blog post in October, the company discussed using machine learning to combat fraud and make its trading platform more secure.

Coinbase reported a profit of $79 million in the first quarter, compared to a loss of $429.7 million a year earlier. Revenue fell less than anticipated. Shares of Coinbase rose about 8.3 percent in trading.

The company surpassed analyst estimates in its first-quarter announcement.
