Strike, a payment platform built on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, has added support for the USDT of Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin.

Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino made the following statements:

“While it has not been finalized which blockchains will be used to support USDT on the platform, there will be a mix of the most used chains.”

The announcement comes two days after Strike made its app available in 65 new countries previously including the US, Argentina and El Salvador. The app will allow users to instantly send and receive Bitcoin using the Lightning Network. Users can also send payments and buy Bitcoin within the platform.

Tether made the following statements in its statement:

“With Tether’s stablecoin as a medium, users gain the ability to quickly convert their digital assets to fiat currency and overcome liquidity challenges that previously hindered adoption. This user-friendly approach is in line with Tether and Strike’s commitment to democratizing finance and promoting inclusiveness globally.”
