One of the world’s leading chip manufacturers Intel is preparing to make new investments in the Western world. According to the news reflected in the press, the technology giant GermanyAnd in Polandwill establish large chip factories.
Intel Agreed With The German Government!
The US-based technology giant is preparing to establish a new facility in Germany, one of the largest industrial manufacturers. The chip crisis that emerged during the pandemic process caused a great disruption in the European country where industrial production is intense. The Scholz government, which does not want to have problems with supply, wants to reach the main production components directly.
According to Reuters, Intel will establish a large chip factory in Dresden, Germany, with 17 billion euros. While government and Intel officials agree in principle, there are some glitches for official signatures.
Allegedly, the chip maker is demanding subsidies of €10 billion from the German government. However, it is not yet known whether the Scholz government will comply with this request.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Pat Gelsinger stated that the number offered by the Germans was much lower. Although the country has the necessary qualified workforce, high wages create problems. Intel CEO emphasized that he believes they will find a middle ground despite the financial difference.
The agreement between the giant hardware manufacturer and the German government could be signed today.
New Chip Factory to Poland!
Intel did not limit its investment move in Europe only to Germany. The US chip and hardware manufacturer is establishing another facility in Poland. The US company will assemble semiconductors in the new factory, for which it has allocated a budget of 4.6 million euros.
The Intel factory planned near Wrocaw will be operational in 2027. The Polish factory will employ 2,000 people.
