Telegram CEO Pavel Durov confirmed that he owns Toncoin and still owns Bitcoin.
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has confirmed that the company has the cryptocurrency Toncoin, which it has adopted. The price of Toncoin rose 3% from $1.34 to $1.38 since Durov’s comments on the subject.
Durov said in a statement on his personal Telegram announcement channel that he purchased a quarter of the newly issued $270 million Telegram bonds to reinvest in the company. He also added, “While some people suggest buying a house or a jet, I prefer to focus on my work and just have Telegram, some Bitcoin and some Toncoin.”
Durov previously stated that he owns Bitcoin. Saying that he spent about $ 1.5 million for 2,000 Bitcoins ten years ago, Durov stated that this amount is worth $ 60 million at today’s prices.
