Microsoft posted an adjusted earnings per share of $2.69 for the quarter ended June, beating expectations. Its revenues for the same period increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to $ 56.19 billion. Analysts were expecting $55.47 billion in revenue.
Microsoft’s cloud computing platform Azure had revenues of $23.45 billion, while the Office division made a profit of $18.15 billion. Analysts had forecast $23.55 billion in revenue from Azure and $18.08 billion from Office.
