Hack allegation comes to the fore as customers try to recover funds from Voyager

Voyager Digital Holdings Inc. It was reported that customers encountered fraud during the bankruptcy process. The company reportedly reopened its platform for 30 days after court-controlled efforts to raise funds to reimburse customers and creditors. However, during this time, it is stated that customers have been exposed to various scams designed to gain access to their crypto assets.

Scammers are setting up fake websites claiming that Voyager customers can increase their payments by linking their non-Voyager crypto wallet to a new account. It is stated that after the new account is created, non-Voyager wallets are emptied. It is stated that very few customers are affected by these scams, but some are victims.

Voyager is the first crypto firm to begin issuing refunds to customers and creditors through the bankruptcy process. According to court records, the company only had about $630 million to cover its $1.8 billion account claims.

Voyager Digital Holdings Inc.’s bankruptcy process is being processed under case number 22-10943 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan). Judges and bankruptcy officials are investigating the case and will continue to review the situation.
