Yuga Labs Confirms Theft of 200 ETH Value of NFTs

Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape NFT collection, announced that 200 ETH worth of NFTs were stolen.

According to Yuga Labs’ statement, the Bored Ape Yacht Club Discord server was hacked the other day and the attacker seized 200 ETH (approximately $360,000) worth of NFT.

The attack took place right after the Discord account of Boris Vagner, the project’s community manager, was hacked, and the attacker made phishing attacks on both the Bored Ape channel and Otherside’s Discord channel.

The news of the attack was first given by Twitter user NFTherder. Apart from the stolen NFTs, it is estimated that 145 more ETH was stolen and these were transferred to four different wallets.

Yuga Labs said it was investigating the incident shortly after and confirmed that the attack had taken place. The company’s announcement came 11 hours after NFTherder’s tweet.

The Discord hack is not the first for Yuga Labs. The first attack occurred on April 1, when the Mutant Ape Yacht Club #8662 NFT was stolen. On April 25, Bored Ape’s Instagram and Discord accounts were hacked.
