Japan -based investment company Metaplanet announced that it plans to gather 116 billion Japanese new (about 745.5 million dollars) to increase BTC investments. The company, which is traded at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, aims to use this fund for Bitcoin purchases. In this context, Metaplanet will produce a zero discount warrant for a total of 21 million stocks. These financial instruments offer investors the right to receive metaplanet shares at a predetermined price. The company said that if this process is completed, it would be the largest capital collection process for the purchase of BTC in the history of Asian stock markets ”.
According to the company’s statement, this decision is linked to the depreciation of the Japanese new and the rise of Bitcoin prices. “In January 2025, BTC has reached the highest level of all time… The Japanese continues to depreciate against the new US dollar and the exchange rate is approaching 160 new,” his statements took part in the company’s last report.
