Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Holdings
Metaplanet (3350) has made significant strides in its cryptocurrency investments, amassing a total of 2,100 bitcoin (BTC). This impressive accumulation now represents 0.01% of the entire bitcoin supply, which is capped at 21 million BTC. Recently, Metaplanet executed a purchase of 68.59 BTC for a substantial $6.6 million, resulting in an average price of approximately $96,335 per bitcoin.
As reported by Dylan Le Clair, Metaplanet has successfully raised $20 million in equity capital within the first two trading days of its innovative “21 million plan”. This ambitious initiative aims to further solidify the company’s position in the cryptocurrency market.
In addition to its investment activities, Metaplanet announced on February 18 that it will implement a 10-for-1 stock split, scheduled to take effect on April 1. This decision follows a previous 1-for-10 reverse stock split that took place just eight months prior.
Currently, Metaplanet shares have shown positive momentum, trading up over 1% in the market. As of now, shares are valued at 6,260 JPY, reflecting the company’s growing influence in the financial landscape.
