Wimbledon Celebrates Center Court’s Centennial with NFT Collection

Grand Slam Wimbledon has announced the launch of The Centenary Collection, a collection of 10 digital collections to commemorate the iconic Center Court’s 100th anniversary. The NFT collection is curated by Glorious Digital, a New Zealand-based digital art studio.

Each of the 100 NFTs priced at £500 is expected to be of great interest to Wimbledon’s global fan base. Also, customers will not be able to choose which decade-old artwork they would like to purchase and instead will be notified on the final day of the tournament, the day The Centenary Collection will be officially released.

AELTC Director of Communications and Marketing Alexandra Willis, says the collection aims to set the Center Court as one of the sport’s most iconic scenes:

“Center Court Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of NFT with these unique digital collections is a nice contrast. This collection not only reflects the past, but also looks to the future through the use of an innovation that has begun to evolve in the last 12 months, a timely reminder of how fans will interact with the sport. It was our great privilege to not only take a fascinating approach to commemorating these incredible transitions of time, but also to work on these works of art with the beauty and creativity worthy of all England’s walls.”

Tim Harper, CEO of Glorious Digital, said:

“We realize that passionate Wimbledon fans will have high expectations. We honor and respect this incredible opportunity to immortalize the rich legacy of tennis with Wimbledon on the Blockchain.”
