AK Party Deputy Chairman of Information and Communication Technologies and Antalya Deputy Atay Uslu published an article titled ‘We are opening the door to the metaverse’. Atay Uslu, who is involved in Metaverse studies, suggested a name.
Uslu used the following expressions in his metaverse article:
“According to some, the new version of the internet in the future, according to others, it is the most popular channel of web 3.0. According to some, it is a system that will replace the internet in the near future. For some, it is a place where virtual and physical reality will meet. According to some, it is a new 3D universe concept where all digital worlds are combined, that is, everything you can do on the internet is gathered in a single space. According to some, it is a new universe that will bring the virtual and physical worlds together. According to some, it is the digital twin of our world.”
Name Suggestion
Uslu suggested that the word metaverse be called “door” or “doors” in Turkish:
“While television occupied 10 percent of life yesterday, today the internet has exceeded 30 percent. There are those who say that the metaverse will exceed/take 60 percent of life tomorrow. Then which will be real life and which will be virtual life? It will be perceived as real if we spend a little time, or as real if we spend a lot of time. I also propose that the word Metaverse be translated into Turkish as a door or gates.”
