Jack Daniel’s has filed three separate trademark applications for the metaverse.
The company made this move with the aim of selling NFT, virtual drinks, clothing, digital wallets and various collectibles on the metaverse.
The application filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) was verified by trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.
Increasing Interest in Metaverse
Although the world of metaverse is still in its infancy, many brands continue to apply for trademarks for metaverse and NFT.
Many global companies such as Jack Daniel’s are seeking to be active in the metaverse and NFT sector.
Famous chocolate maker Mars Inc. has filed a trademark application for NFTs of the M&M brand.
Giant brands such as McDonald’s and KFC have also started work to offer virtual drinks and food on the metaverse.
There has also been a large increase in trademark applications for the metaverse in the USA. While 3516 trademark applications were made in 2021, this number has surpassed 3600 for 2022 between January 1 and August 31.
