Emirates, an airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has announced plans to add Bitcoin to its payment options.
Emirates aims to use digital technologies such as blockchain, metaverse and cryptocurrency as part of its goal of interacting with customers in a faster and more flexible way.
Emirates To Add Bitcoin To Payment Options
Emirates COO Adel Ahmed Al -Redha said that Emirates plans to use Bitcoin as a payment service and the company is interested in NFTs.
Al-Redha also stated at a media conference that the Dubai-based airline will be recruiting new staff for metaverses and NFTs to develop applications.
Speaking as “ NFTs and metaverse are two different applications and approaches ”, Al-Redha said that the airline will use blockchain to track aircraft records. Regarding the metaverse,
CEO said:
“Metaverse is an application that puts all your processes into a metaverse-type application, whether in operation, training, website sales, or a complete experience. You will be able to transform it, but more importantly, you will be able to make it interactive.”
