Ripple Wants to Expand Further in Europe
General Counsel Stuart AlderotyHe told CNBC that Ripple is looking to expand its services in the EU through an organization in Ireland.
Alderoty noted that Ripple is effectively operating outside of the United States today due to the results of its extensive legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He also said, “Essentially, all of our customers and revenues are diverted outside of the US even though we still have a large number of employees within the US.”
Seeking to expand its presence in Europe Ripple currently has two employees in the Republic of Ireland. Alderoty added that the company is seeking a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license from the Irish central bank so that they can offer their services across the European Union through an organization located there.
