What is vomiting? KSM Coin

Kusama is a blockchain project that allows testing the Polkadot network. The native cryptocurrency of the network is KSM Coin.

What is vomiting?

The network where the new blockchain and applications to be launched on the Polkadot network are tested is called Kusama. Updates are also being tested on Kusama prior to release. Kusama was created in 2019 by Gavin Wood. The company behind it is Parity Technologies. The Kusama project is financed by the Web3 Foundation, which supports the development of the Web 3.0 ecosystem. Kusama basically aims to provide a testing environment for developers. Developers can test the dApps they create on Polkadot Blockchain through the platform. The Kusama platform offers high interoperability and scalability to the public.

Kusama has almost the same code base as Polkadot. However, there are some differences between them. The biggest difference is due to the speed of network management. The voting process takes about 1 month in the Polkadot network, seven days in Kusama and eight days to implement the changes. The fact that it takes about 4 times longer than Kusama is an indication that Polkadot cares about safety and stability rather than speed. This makes Polkadot suitable for high-value and low-risk projects such as blockchain finance applications. Vomiting prioritizes speed. Therefore, blockchain is suitable for more risky low- and medium-sized projects. Their architectures are similar as well as their code base. Kusama offers developers the opportunity to experiment on their projects with lower parameters.

How Does Vomiting Work?

Launched by the Polkadot team, Kusama uses Substrate technology developed by Parity Technologies. In addition, the platform uses the Nominated Proof-of-Stake (NPoS) consensus mechanism to ensure its security. This mechanism was created as an alternative to the high-energy Proof-of-Work mechanism and has a distributed structure. The project is managed decentralized by the community. Kusama provides flexibility to developers with rules that are not as strict as Polkadot and allows them to try projects before launching them in Polkadot. Aiming at a wide variety of projects, Kusama can create both private and public blockchains, smart contracts, and high-throughput chains.

Kusama’s protocol structure is similar to Polkadot. It consists of a relay chain and parachain. With this structure, it significantly increases scalability and offers interoperability. The main blockchain, the relay chain, is the chain where transactions terminate. It separates the processes of adding and confirming new transactions to speed up transactions. Parachain, on the other hand, consists of parallel chains. In addition, it works in parallel with the relay chain. These chains can be created by blockchain users. Customizable chains that use the relay chain’s calculation for accuracy of transactions. Parachain are chains that are in constant communication with each other and prevent congestion on the main chain.

What is KSM Coin?

The native cryptocurrency of the Kusama network is KSM Coin. There are many use cases. As an example of these; Voting in network administration, staking for the functioning of the network and connecting parallel chains to Kusama can be given. Kusama’s cryptocurrency KSM Coin, which has its own blockchain, is not ERC-20 based. It has been a preferred cryptocurrency by crypto investors. One of the reasons for this is that it has provided high returns.

In addition, KSM Coin, a governance token, allows users to participate in the management of the platform. Users with KSM Coin can participate in the management, submit offers and vote by spending their tokens. Besides, users who stake their assets are rewarded with additional KSM Coins for securing the network.

Where and How to Buy KSM Coins?

The native cryptocurrency of the Kusama network, KSM Coin, is listed on many cryptocurrency exchanges. To these; Examples include Binance, KuCoin, Kraken, Coinbase Exchange, Bitfinex, Bithumb, OKX, Huobi, Gate io. Investors who want to buy KSM Coins should first choose a platform. Must be a member and create an account. Investors who enter their information completely can buy the amount of KSM Coins they want on the trading page. Purchased KSM Coins can be used in transactions or stored in secure wallets for later use.
