The Argentine Football Federation has partnered with metaverse startup Upland.
The partnership includes a virtual gathering space for fans along with digital collectibles.

Federation President Claudio Fabian Tapia used the following statements in his statement:
“The Argentine Professional League has long sought the opportunity to leverage new technologies to improve the fan experience.
This agreement allows us to partner with the best creators of technology and new digital products and create a source of income for all clubs participating in the project.”
Upland, with over 3 million users, is a game that involves picking and counting virtual lands connected to real places in the world. The startup behind the game raised $18 million in a funding round led by Animoca Brands.
Argentina’s national team’s fan token, ARG, also experienced a huge spike before and during the tournament, but declined after the victory.
