Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin spoke at the ETH Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit event. Buterin marked August for Ethereum’s highly anticipated transition to PoS. He said it could be delayed to October if developers run into some difficulties.
The transition will take place on June 8 on Ropsten, one of Ethereum’s public testnets. This represents an important milestone before the transition to PoS, as it allows simulating a real merger (PoS).
Ethereum developer Tim Beiko said in a statement on the subject that Ethereum is in the “final stage” in the transition to PoS . Similarly, Preston Van Loon, one of the core developers of Ethereum, said that the transition is likely to happen in August.
