Crypto Communities Have a Big Role
Previously, many crypto communities have donated millions of dollars to India, which is struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic, and to Ukraine, which has suffered heavy losses in the Russia-Ukraine war. As part of these aids, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin donated $1 billion to India, which was affected by Covid-19.
In general, crypto communities, which respond quickly to such humanitarian crises, do not spare their help in this painful day that Turkey is going through. However, these aids are currently lagging as local authorities are not welcoming to digital assets that have yet to be regulated. Web3 Technology Association also calls for official government agencies such as AFAD and Red Crescent to create crypto asset wallets in order to prevent these disruptions and continue helping the international crypto community. This petition initiated by the association received support from 52 crypto communities within 2 hours.
