Bittrex co-founder and CEO Richie Lai announced today that they will be closing Bittrex US operations.
As the US pressure on the cryptocurrency market continues, Bittrex made a statement about its operations in the US. Richie Lai, co-founder and CEO of the company, made the announcement.
Bittrex Makes Statements on US Operations
Bittrex co-founder and CEO Richie Lai made the following statements regarding Bittrex USA today:
“As a direct result of continued regulatory uncertainty and US regulators’ lack of interest in sensible policies that will encourage innovation and improve the American economy, Bittrex USA has made the difficult decision to close its US operations, effective April 30, and will close US operations. All client funds are safe and can be withdrawn until then.”
The CEO continued in his statements as follows:
“The sad truth is that while policy makers and regulators in jurisdictions around the world are working with digital asset exchanges to shape the future of the global economy, their US counterparts are apparently determined to extinguish the industry and ship it overseas. We are truly grateful for the support of our US customers and team over the past nine years. My co-founders and I are committed to growing Bittrex Global, which operates and serves only non-US customers, providing customers worldwide with the safest, most secure and most compliant exchange on the market.”
