Address Related to Ronin Hack Makes Massive Ethereum Transfer

An address linked to the Ronin Network hack transferred 5,505.7 ETH ($11 million), according to Etherscan data. This brings the total amount of funds transferred to 23,525 ETH ($48 million).

The aforementioned total was divided into seven consecutive transactions that occurred last week. The vast majority of the Ronin hacker’s funds were invested in Tornado Cash, an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency mixer to launder stolen funds.

As previously reported, the gaming-focused Ronin network built specifically for Axie Infinity suffered a $625 million hack in March, making it one of the largest security breaches in decentralized finance and crypto history. Hackers stole massive amounts of ETH and USDC.

It was later revealed that the massive hack was orchestrated by the Lazarus Group, one of the most notorious hacking groups in the world, allegedly controlled by the North Korean government.

In early April, the creators of Axie Infinity announced that they had raised $150 million to distribute to victims.
