Users of Gate.io, one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges, have seen their account balances reset in the past hours. The Exchange team clarified the issue in an official announcement shortly after.
Bitcoin and altcoin balances of Gate.io users have been reset
As closely followed crypto researcher Wu Blockchain reported, Gate.io users’ account balances were briefly reset today. In detail, the error in question occurred between 17:05 and 17:20. The Gate.io team soon stated that the error was due to the spot trading engine update.

According to the announcement, Gate.io was updating its spot trading engine between 5:05 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. today. The upgrade took about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, due to an update-related bug, user balances were briefly 0.

The exchange, known for its gem coins, shared the details of the Hasaki (HAHA) pre-sale and listing in another announcement today. According to the announcement, HAHA token transactions were activated on May 06. Withdrawals will be opened during the day.
The exchange also announced a new passive income source. Accordingly, Gate.io supports the ‘Borrow and Earn TURBO’ program. According to the statement, the high real-time APR was 20.15% and the borrowed percent was 28.01%.
In the first quarter of 2022, Gate.io’s total transaction volume was recorded as $256 billion. CMC data shows that the exchange currently has a daily volume of $ 1 billion.
