Andre Cronje says he never really left the Phantom Foundation

Between March and November 2022, Andre Cronje said he was leaving the Phantom Foundation.

Andre Cronje said in his new statement that he actually never really left the Phantom Foundation. Cronje says it’s just for looks right now.

Andre Cronje stated in his new statement that he never actually left the Phantom Foundation.

In early November, signs that controversial crypto entrepreneur Andre Cronje would be returning to the Phantom project drove the token price up by 20 percent.

“My distance from the Phantom was only from a public standpoint,” Cronje told The Block on the Scoop podcast. “I was getting negative news about the project at the time and thought it would affect Phantom.”

Cronje stated that he has been working at the Phantom Foundation almost full-time since 2019, which was confirmed by other employees on the project. “You can talk to anyone in the organization, they all know I’m still there, still working. I was still doing my day job.”

Cronje explained the reason for his departure from the project as follows:

“I just thought it would do more harm than good to reputation,” he explained. However, with the persuasion of Phantom Foundation CEO Michael Kong, he finally decided to make a public comeback. “And I finally gave up after a few months of attrition, and then, you know, I decided to accept it. But it wasn’t actually a total rupture. It was a social distancing that I thought was better for the project at the time.”

As a result, there are conflicting statements about Andre Cronje leaving and returning from the Phantom Foundation. However, there are various opinions about his impact and contributions on the project.
