Binance supports BEP20 and BEP2 network updates
First, Binance announced that it will support BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) and BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) network upgrades and hard forks. BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network upgrade and hard fork will occur at BNB Smart Chain block height 23.846.001. This corresponds to 12 December 2022, 13 pm. Deposits and withdrawals to BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) will be suspended from 12.30 pm, 12 December 2022.
The BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) network upgrade and hard fork will take place at the BNB Beacon Chain block height of 284,376,000. This corresponds to approximately 14 December, 10 pm. Deposits and withdrawals to BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) will be suspended from 09:30 CEST on the same day.
The exchange stated that token trading on the BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) and BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) will not be affected during network upgrades and hard forks. It also announced that it will meet all relevant technical requirements for all users. These BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) and BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) network upgrades and hard forks will not result in the creation of new tokens. The exchange will reopen deposits and withdrawals when it thinks the updated network is stable.
Binance.US adds new Cardano pair
On the other hand, Binance.US, the American subsidiary of Binance exchange, now allows its users to trade Cardano (ADA) against USD Coin (USDC), according to a recent announcement. Additionally, Cardano rival Solana (SOL) can also be traded against the second largest stablecoin. Binance.US stated that the two cryptocurrencies aim to achieve “scalability, interoperability, and sustainability.”
