The Twitter account of artist Mike Winkelmann, also known as BEEPLE, was hacked today for a crypto scam. The account was hacked for sharing a fake link to a website collaborating with fashion designer Louis Vuitton.
Harry.ETH, a security researcher at MetaMask/MyCrypto, tweeted, “Beeple’s Twitter account was compromised to launch a phishing website to steal money.”

BEEPLE’s account was hacked for sharing a fake link for an “official giveaway” and Some of the Twitter users said that ETH was withdrawn from their wallets.
As The Block previously reported, Louis Vuitton commissioned BEEPLE for NFT art as a reward for a game called Louis: The Game. According to its page, BEEPLE has around 672,000 Twitter followers. Last year, BEEPLE sold an NFT at a record $69 million auction.
