Binance manager Tigran Gambaryan detailed the eight -month process and the difficulties he faced in Nigeria.
Binance Manager: This would only be a two -day business trip
Tigran Gambaryan, the head of a former Federal Agent and Binance Exchange’s Financial Crimes Unit, told Nigeria for the first time with the legal system of Nigeria for the first time.
Gambaryan was arrested and imprisoned on charges of money laundering. In this process, he experienced health problems such as malaria, pneumonia and hernia. At one point, he worsened enough to faint in a courtroom in Abuja (the capital of Nigeria).

In February last year, just two days after coming to Abuja to discuss the allegations that Binance was operating in Nigeria, Gambaryan and his colleague Nadeem Anjarwalla were detained at a government guist.

On 22 March 2024, British lawyer Anjarwalla, Binance’s regional regional manager in Nairobi, stated that he wanted to worship in a mosque due to the month of Ramadan and asked the guards permission.
Anjarwalla said that when he returned from the mosque, he would go to his room and sleep. At night, Gambaryan was making phone calls with US officials. When he wanted to control Anjarwalla’s situation, he found the house dark. Personnel, electricity allocated the money to embezzle the continuous power outage was experiencing.

Passport trick
Anjarwalla, who delivered the Kenya passport to Nigeria officials, actually hid the British passport secretly. Thanks to this passport, he managed to go to the airport of the police before he could reach Kenya.
Interpol has been removed by anjarwalla and this search is still ongoing. However, all anger and punishment attempts were directed to Gambaryan.
Use as a pawn
According to Gambaryan, this was a part of a greater conflict between Binance and the Central Bank of Nigeria and the country’s economic units that fight corruption.
Authorities accused the world’s largest crypto exchange of reducing the value of Nigeria’s local currency. At the beginning of 2024, Naira lost more than 90 %value.
The Nigerian government’s communication Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris said that Binance has found illegal crypto procedures for terrorists and criminals involved in kidnapping.
Gambaryan said he was a 40 -year -old IRS agent and helped foreign governments to fight crypto frauds in Binance.
