Bitcoin historian Pete Rizzo revealed how Bitcoin’s first website appeared in a recent sharing. This image dated January 31, 2009 sheds light on the period when BTC is worth a zero dollar.
Simple design of Bitcoin’s first website
The shared screenshot shows that the oldest version of Bitcoin.org has a very simple design. At that time, the site included information on Bitcoin V0.1, the first open source btc client Bitcoin V0.1 published on January 9, 2009.
Bitcoin.org domain name was recorded on August 18, 2008. Later, on October 31, 2008, the technical article titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-to-Peer Electronic Cash System”, written by Satoshi Nakamoto, was shared in an e-mail list.
The Birth of BTC and the separation of Satoshi Nakamoto
On January 3, 2009, BTC came to life with Satoshi Nakamoto’s first block Genesis block. This block included 50 BTC prizes. However, Satoshi’s active interest with Bitcoin lasted until mid -2010.
In April 2011, Satoshi said in a message to a BTC developer. This message is accepted as the last record showing that it was completely withdrawn from the project.
Bitcoin.org’s development and independence
The website was initially managed by Satoshi Nakamoto and BTC developer Martti Malmi. Between 2011-2013, the site was used as a platform where new Core versions were released.
In 2013, the site was designed from the beginning and new pages and additional BTC software were added. At the same time, the multilingual support system was commissioned. When Satoshi Nakamoto left Bitcoin in 2011, he transferred control of his website to different people except developers. Today, the relevant website continues to exist as an independent open source project that many people contribute to the world.
