Charles Hoskinson, founder of popular altcoin Cardano (ADA), praised a rival cryptocurrency project. Hoskinson’s move took many by surprise. Here are the details…

Cardano (ADA) founder praises Algorand

Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano (ADA), praised rival cryptocurrency project Algorand on Twitter. According to Hoskinson, Algorand is an excellent project with many exceptional people involved. Hoskinson’s comment comes after John Woods, former Director of Cardano Architecture at Input Output Global (IOG), will join the Algorand Foundation as Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The new CTO used the following statements:

I am excited to take the next step in my career and join the Algorand Foundation as CTO. I had a great time helping build Cardano at IOHK. We are all building the future of finance.

Hoskinson commends Woods for his contribution to Cardano

Commenting on the development, Hoskinson said he enjoyed working with Woods as IOG CTO while Duncan Coutts was on leave. He said he was excited about Woods being hired as Algorand’s CTO. He added that this development could result in future collaborations between IOG and the Algorand Foundation.

It was fun working with John during Duncan’s paternity leave. I am very pleased to see John step up as a CTO. This opens up many great opportunities for future collaboration and research. Algorand is an excellent project with extraordinary people.

What will Woods’ role be in Algorand?

It is noteworthy that before Woods was appointed CTO of the Algorand Foundation, he was the director of Cardano Architecture at IOG, the firm responsible for Cardano’s research and development. Woods’ appointment as Algorand’s CTO indicates that he is responsible for technical partnerships, infrastructure development, training, developer tools and engagement. Algorand used the following statements in a statement yesterday:

“[Woods] will focus specifically on eliminating frustrations from developer UX, clarifying and improving the developer education journey. It will also focus on adding tools and resources for building apps on Algorand. According to the announcement, Woods will report to Algorand CEO Staci Warden, who joined the company in January. “With John, in this critical leadership position, we are confident we can do it for our community. “His technical expertise and track record of building great teams is widely recognized in the crypto ecosystem, and we are excited to have him among us.”

At the time of writing, ADA is changing hands at $0.46 at a rate that hasn’t changed in the last 24 hours. The cryptocurrency has risen 2.8 percent over the past 7 days. On the other hand, Algorand (ALGO) is changing hands at $0.31, up 0.2 percent. ALGO has gained 0.7 percent in the last 7 days.
