The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced its highly anticipated September interest rate decision.
At the eighth meeting in August, a surprise interest rate cut came from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. With the MPC Decision dated August 18, 2022, the one-week repo auction rate was reduced by 100 basis points. The interest rate decision for September did not come in line with expectations, the policy rate was announced as 12 percent.
