Civil Aviation Administration and China Trade Bank said that passengers could use the Central Bank digital currency to access new services.
The pilot program was launched for Digital Yuan, the Digital currency of China’s Central Bank. Payments of flight tickets can now be made using digital yuan. The newly introduced platform is reported to allow companies and entrepreneurs to use digital yuan for proper payment of commercial flight tickets. In addition, passengers will have the opportunity to use digital yuan to access new services through the platform.
China has increased its work on CBDC
Central Bank Digital Currency ( CBDCChina has increased its activities day by day and finally integrated this issue into the air travel sector. According to a local press, a cooperation between China Merchants Bank and the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration prepared the ground for the introduction of a digital Yuan platform aiming to facilitate transactions for passengers in the aviation network.
At the opening event celebrated the official launch of the platform on July 18, the Civil Aviation Administration and China Merchants Bank called for more use for CBDC. They said they would cooperate to explore the implementation of digital Yuan in various fields of the civil aviation industry.
According to some report, the Chinese Halk Bank, the central bank of the country, actively encourages the use of digital yu in China’s transportation network. In particular, Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing Başkent International Airport attracted attention in 2022 with digital Yuan -based initiatives.
