Crypto Company Hashed Appoints South Korean Finance Officer

With this move, Hashed plans to bring together blockchain experts and the Korean government to increase dialogue. In addition, seminars and research activities between institutions are among the plans.

Important Assignment from Crypto Company Hashed

Deputy Finance Minister Kim Yong-beom confirmed on his Facebook account that he will be serving in Hashed.

The company’s CEO, Simon Seojoon Kim, said in a statement that the company’s fundraising plans were hampered by the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. The firm had purchased 30 million LUNA worth $3.6 million.

Hashed said in December that he was under investigation by the National Tax Service. However, there has been no update on the subject since then.

Kim was among the deputy economy and finance ministers from August 2019 to March 2021. During his tenure here, he supported the taxation of cryptocurrency exchanges. Prior to that, he served as vice chairman of the country’s financial regulator, the Financial Services Commission (FSC). Here, too, he was among those who approved the regulation banning anonymous trading on cryptocurrency exchanges. With this regulation, foreigners and minors were also prohibited from doing business.
