Cryptocurrency startup Request Finance raised $5.5 million in a kick-off round attended by leading investors such as Animoca Brands.
The startup, which simplifies processes such as invoicing, spending and payroll for companies, has raised $5.5 million from venture capital firm Balderton Capital and gaming firm Animoca Brands. The venture has also attracted angel investors such as VC XAnge and Aave founder Stani Kulechov and The Sandbox co-founder Sebastian Borget. With the said fund, the company plans to recruit more staff and increase its marketing activities.
Founder and CEO Christophe Lassuyt described the startup as “web3 Bill.com” and in an interview with The Block, said:
“Bill.com allows customers to click with one click. helps them pay hundreds of bills, and we do just that with Request Finance. (…) You can pay 100 invoices in 50 different currencies to 20 different countries with one click.”
Founded in January 2021, the company says it has 20 customers and paid 200 bills so far, including industry leaders such as The Sandbox, Polygon, MakerDAO and Near Protocol.
