On July 30, Curve Finance suffered an abuse of $ 24 million due to a Vyper -based smart contract error. However, then the abuse, the protocol, $ 8.5 million worth of 4,820 tools returned. Transactions took place throughout three separate processing groups. The first process started with a 1,000 device worth $ 1.7 million and seemed to be a test process. Alchemix Finance is a credit -based defi protocol using Curve pools and received a total of 4,820 tools from the computer pirate. According to Coingecko, Ekleh or Alchemix ETH is currently trading around $ 1,755.
Curve Finance asked the computer pirate to return the money on August 3. Computer pirate responded to this request and asked Curve to verify the 0xbabe address.
Following the incident, Michael Egorov, the founder of the Curve protocol, realized a series of over 106 million CRV Token, worth 42 million dollars to reduce the risk of liquidation. These procedures were among the measures taken to increase the safety of the protocol and prevent similar abuse.
