Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao talked about various topics in the cryptocurrency market in a chat broadcast on Bankless. The billionaire compared the cryptocurrency industry to the internet and noted that great opportunities will emerge from successful projects such as NFTs and DeFi.
Zhao said:
“I think there is more than one reason for increasing adoption of cryptocurrencies and Blockchain.”
Stating that ICOs were popular in 2017 and a lot of things happened in 2021, Zhao stated that with the growth of the industry, there will no longer be a single factor that will increase adoption. However, Zhao noted that a social network for cryptocurrencies may not have been invented yet, and idle use cases may emerge.
Zhao also stated that the payment industry is interesting and there are instant conversion solutions as well as the existence of faster blockchains like the Lightning Network.
In the continuation of his speech, Zhao also touched on other topics. He emphasized that competition has grown the sector and that there is indirect cooperation on regulatory issues. Regarding the bankruptcy of FTX, he said that he and the industry were unaware of fraudulent operations. Regarding the recent controversy over the Ledger wallet, he added that no one has lost money, but that the situation is still an issue.
