DCG-Owned Crypto Exchange Manager Leaves

The founder and CTO of Luno, the crypto exchange owned by Digital Currency Group (DCG), has stepped down.

While the crypto market has been rocked by the collapses of Terra, Three Arrows Capital, and most recently, FTX, crypto firms have experienced many executive leadership changes in recent months.

Director of DCG’s Crypto Exchange Luno Resigns

Founder and chief technology officer of crypto exchange Luno Timothy StranexAfter ten years at the company, he quietly left the company in December to pursue his personal projects.

A company spokesperson, former vice president of engineering Simon FineHe confirmed that he had assumed the role of CTO since the beginning of the year.

Ince shared the following with The Block:

“I was appointed the new CTO earlier in the month and will lead Luno’s global engineering team as we continue to develop a simple and intuitive application that delivers a secure and reliable experience for our 10 million customers worldwide. As Luno discovers and innovates to enhance this experience, we will continue to build on the capabilities of our engineering team for success.”

The London-based firm started crypto holding in September 2020. Digital Currency Group Bought by. Genesis Global Capital, another subsidiary of DCG, is currently on track to file for bankruptcy, where creditors are negotiating a pre-packaged plan with the firm.
