EU Countries Close to Agreement for Crypto Regulation

European Union (EU) countries are very close to an agreement for cryptocurrency regulations.

According to Bloomberg’s report, European Union countries are close to reaching an agreement within the Crypto Asset Market (MiCA) regulatory framework.

EU countries still have a number of problems to resolve before reaching a definitive consensus.

Among the top topics discussed by countries are NFTs and stablecoins.

Regulators plan to limit the size of transactions made with dollar-denominated cryptocurrencies.

EU countries are also considering creating a set of anti-money laundering laws that should be included in the regulatory framework.

The EU also emphasizes the importance of monitoring the environmental impact of Bitcoin. Previously, the EU had made some changes to restrict cryptocurrencies using the proof-of-work algorithm. However, after the backlash, this arrangement was shelved for the time being.
