Amy Wu, who once served as head of FTX’s venture arm, has taken on a new role at Menlo Ventures.

Axios first reported the lease on Thursday morning. The outlet said Wu will work in New York with a focus on consumer-centric startups. He said on Twitter that he would lead consumer and gaming investments.

“If you’re consumer and game developer (web 2 or web3!) contact me via DMs,” he wrote.

Wu, who previously served as a partner at VC firm Lightspeed, took on the role of FTX Ventures, where the bankrupt crypto exchange launched a $2 billion initial investment fund in January 2022. As The Information previously reported, he resigned from FTX Ventures when the exchange went bankrupt last November.

Wu said about the FTX Ventures experience in an interview with Axios: “It was really tough; I stayed there for a short time. It was 10 months and it felt like 10 years. I found out what happened on Twitter.” said.
