Answering questions publicly for the first time since he took over the stock market from SBF, Ray explained his views on the future of the stock market.
FTX CEO Willing to Restart Operations
John Ray stated that while the company was looking for possibilities to pay its customers and creditors, they also discussed the possibility of restarting operations.
Ray, who took over the exchange in November, emphasized that they formed a research team to consider the possibility of restarting operations.
While the former executives of FTX are facing major charges, some customers feel that a reboot of the platform may be worthwhile.
“Every possibility is on the table. If there is a way forward in this regard, we will not just investigate, we will do it.”
FTX’s filing for bankruptcy has been one of the biggest failure stories ever in the crypto industry. In a very short time, Celsius Network LLC, Voyager Digital Ltd. and many crypto companies such as BlockFi have also filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. It is stated that Genesis is also discussing this possibility.
“We have partners we work with who think this is achievable. Even if the issue of relaunching the exchange is gaining interest, the status of FTX’s customers remains unclear.”
