FTX CEO Sam Bankman Fried stated that they could make a bid for Celsius.
The cryptocurrency exchange is considering a possible bid for Celsius.
FTX Discusses Proposal
Speaking during DC Fintech Week, Bankman-Fried talked about his company’s role in the crypto industry.
FTX has been on a buying spree lately. The company finally submitted the winning bid for the assets of Voyager Digital. SBF stated that it is quite comfortable with this process being completed and hopes that the assets will be returned to customers within a fairly short period of time.
In a statement, SBF said that they will be able to spend more in the coming period:
“In the end, bankruptcies will occur, in which we can or will not play a role. But I think we’ve made many of the moves we hope to make now.”
Celsius may face an auction process just like Voyager Digital. According to the latest news, FTX plans to make a bid for Celsius as well.
“I can say for sure that we will look into places like this. At the very least, we’ll want to be aware of what’s going on. I don’t know if that means we’re going to do something.”
The matter may become clear if Celsius enters the auction phase.
