FTX US Freezes Withdrawals

FTX US has suspended withdrawals, according to on-chain data and a source familiar with the matter.

There are still millions of dollars of assets in hot wallets on the exchange.

FTX has not yet made a statement on the subject.

Sam Bankman Fried, former CEO of FTX, said that FTX US did not have any liquidity problems. But a day later, FTX US filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The exchange stopped withdrawals earlier this week, although customers in Japan, the Bahamas and Turkey can start withdrawing their funds.

It remains unclear what the funds will be. It is stated that FTX is facing a gap of 10 billion dollars.

FTX US warned customers the other day that their trading could be stopped. However, it was stated that withdrawals will not be affected. Although the announcement is still on FTX US’s website, withdrawals seem to have been stopped.
