Video game retailer GameStop launches beta version of crypto wallet
GameStop introduced digital asset wallet for storing, sending and buying crypto and NFT ahead of the launch of NFT marketplace.
The beta version of the Self-custodial Ethereum wallet is currently available for download from GameStop’s website.
GameStop’s wallet will allow players to buy, sell and send game assets from their web browser.
In its fourth quarter earnings report in March, the company announced its plan to launch an NFT marketplace by the end of July.
GameStop has partnered with Immutable X, a layer 2 system for its Ethereum blockchain-based marketplace.
After the announcement, the shares of GameStop, traded on the New York Stock Exchange, rose 2.67% to $98.21 in pre-market trading.
