Gemini plans to expand its Singapore office by hiring more than 100 employees.
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) harsh approach caused many leading crypto companies to move abroad. One of the exchanges that moved its headquarters outside the USA was Gemini. Aiming to increase the number of personnel, the company is considering using its Singapore office as its main headquarters.
Gemini Expands APAC Operations
Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, led by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, also plans to establish an engineering base in India as part of its APAC expansion.
In the statement released on the company’s blog page: “Our Singapore office is bigger. APAC It will act as a hub for our operations. We believe APAC will be a major driver of the next wave of growth for crypto and Gemini.” The company’s expansion plans are part of Gemini’s effort to reach a non-US audience.

The company’s latest decision came after regulatory pressure from the SEC. Coinbase is also planning to open a center outside the USA for similar reasons. Coinbase expanded the range of services it offers to its customers in Singapore in May. Coinbase’s country director for Singapore Hassan Ahmed“The point here is that the world is on its way, with or without the US, and as a global company, we are very determined to keep moving forward with international expansion,” the statement said.
