Cryptocurrency market is down on a weekly basis

A tweet from blockchain analytics firm Santiment shows that cryptocurrencies at the Digital Currency Group (DCG), owned by Barry Silbert, have fallen sharply in recent days. According to the tweet, the list of affected coins includes ETC, FLOW, MASK, FIL, OCEAN, YGG, RSR, DOT, LPT, MANA, BAT, NEAR. Currently, the global cryptocurrency market cap is down 0.01%, according to CoinMarketCap. As a result, the global crypto market cap stands at around $811 billion.

The total 24-hour trading volume in the market also saw a decline. Currently, the total trading volume has decreased by 12 percent compared to yesterday. Thus, it is at the level of 32.38 billion dollars. Genesis, one of DCG’s companies, has suspended withdrawals for almost a month. Also, some coins in its portfolio fell after DCG’s “rumored bankruptcy”.

Altcoin projects in DCG’s portfolio fell hard in 7 days

First of all, Ethereum Classic (ETC) saw its price drop more than 14 percent last week following its news. Meanwhile, the Flow (FLOW) price has dropped 19.5 percent in the last 7 days. The price of Mask Network (MASK) fell 29 percent. Filecoin (FIL) and Ocean Protocol (OCEAN) saw weekly losses of 31.9 percent and 6 percent, respectively.

Yield Guild Games (YGG), Reserve Rights (RSR), Polkadot (DOT), Livepeer (LPT) and Decentraland (MANA) prices also fell. These coins have lost value in the last 7 days as follows, respectively: 22.30 percent, 21.90 percent, 14.52, 16.33 and 21.43 percent. The last two cryptocurrencies on DCG’s list, Basic Attention Token (BAT) and Near Protocol (NEAR), also suffered weekly double-digit losses. Currently, the price of BAT is down 16 percent week on week, while the price of NEAR is down 23 percent.
