SEC member Hester Peirce has once again called for regulation of cryptocurrencies.
Peirce, known as the “crypto mom” in the crypto community, expressed his desire to see a new law regulating cryptocurrencies.

Known for years as an outspoken crypto advocate, Peirce spoke at a conference hosted by the Securities Traders Association in Washington.
Peirce said that SEC Chairman Gary Gensler has a tremendous knowledge of cryptos, so there is a great opportunity for regulation. However, he also pointed out that the necessary steps have not been taken so far:
“We didn’t really do anything except some enforcement actions. I think we are in an ideal time for new legislation.”
Hester Peirce pointed out that there has been chaos in the crypto markets in the last seven months and stated that there is a perception of more aggressive regulation of cryptos:
“Obviously there are lessons that apply to crypto markets as well as normal ones. Some people in the crypto markets are learning about this lately. People in traditional markets may have warned people in the crypto industry about this.”
Peirce has previously called for the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
