Altcoin project will launch a new social networking app
Popular decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) Friends With Benefits (FWB) is launching a social networking app, the group announced on Twitter on Thursday. FWB was launched in 2021 with the goal of hosting local in-person meetings as well as building an enthusiastic social community for Web3 adoption and education. In September 2021, it raised $10 million led by crypto startup a16z to build its global community online and offline.
While FWB builds its first community through a channel on Discord, its app will help facilitate communication through a decentralized, members-only platform. FWB said in a blog post that the app aims to build real relationships by allowing members to connect with each other, read governance recommendations and explore upcoming in-person events.
SecretDAO is on the verge of an important vote
According to the proposal’s official page, the decentralized autonomous organization that manages the privacy-focused blockchain Secret Network has voted to restructure its organization as a nonprofit with a “transparent operation.” The proposal states that the new foundation will be “registered as an NPO (nonprofit) and will provide an annual account of its activities, including key performance indicators (KPIs), budgets and targets.”
The Foundation will be managed by a board of three or more community members. Under the proposal, no organization will be allowed to hold more than two seats on the board. The proposal was accepted with 90.13 percent of the vote. 9.87 percent of the DAO abstained, and no members voted against the proposal. cryptocoin.comAs we reported, the approval came after a discussion that broke out between SCRT Labs and the Secret Foundation, the two separate organizations that support the Secret Network.
Coinbase may list EUROC
Customers on top US crypto exchange Coinbase will soon be able to exchange their crypto assets for a euro-backed stablecoin. The exchange added Euro Coin (EUROC) to its listing roadmap on Thursday, putting the stablecoin on a tradable path. Euro Coin was launched by global fintech firm Circle, which is known to be working in a consortium with Coinbase to issue USD Coin (USDC), the second largest dollar-pegged stablecoin. Circle says that Euro Coin is “100% backed by Euros held in Euro-denominated bank accounts” to ensure that the Euro Coin is always redeemable at a 1:1 ratio.
Popular altcoin SHIB announces Bugatti partnership
Bugatti Group, a famous luxury brand headquartered in Montreal Canada, has launched a portal in collaboration with Shiba Inu. Shiboshi NFT owners will be allowed to request physical items. The manufacturer of luxury branded bags and luggage said SHIBOSHI NFT owners can access their claim portals through their control panel. The launch of physical items for NFT owners stands out as one of their models to bring additional value to the elite members of their community.
IOTA and Digimarc announce partnership
IOTA has entered into a strategic partnership with Digimarc, a blockchain startup dedicated to creating a digital record of physical products in a way that makes them easily verifiable. Both the startup and IOTA are investing in the Digital Passport initiative, which returned in March last year, according to a blog post shared by Dominique Guinard, Vice President at Digimarc. The capabilities of blockchain technology and the innovation associated with it have often been touted as necessary to power the next generation of internet, marked by a range of advanced use cases.
Ankr and Secret Network form partnership
Ankr, one of the world’s leading Web3 infrastructure providers, has become one of the first enterprise-level RPC (Remote Procedure Call) providers for Secret Network. Secret Network is the first mainnet Blockchain with privacy-preserving smart contracts, allowing developers to build decentralized and permissionless applications while also leveraging encrypted login, logout and state. Secret Network is the first chain from the Cosmos ecosystem powered by Ankr.
MakerDAO launches an Aave rival altcoin project
Like many other DeFi platforms, MakerDAO is rolling out offers to its community this February. The subject of the latest proposal is Spark, a protocol designed to draw attention to its flagship product, DAI.
