After almost a month of drama, LUNA 2.0 is finally on the air. So far, many exchanges have confirmed that they support Terra 2.0 and its airdrop. Here’s what happened…
LUNA 2.0 launched
According to the team Users can access their preferred validator(s) on Terra Station to earn rewards and participate in management decisions with their liquid LUNA. They can do many things, including staking, using in dApps at launch, or trading on an exchange. As Kriptokoin.com , so far the following exchanges have confirmed that they support Terra 2.0 and its airdrop: Binance, Kraken, Huobi Global, Bitrue, Bybit, HitBTC, Okcoin, OKX Gateio KuCoin, LBank, Cryptocom, FTX, Bitfinex, Bitget and MECX Global.
The Terra team has confirmed that the Luna airdrop will occur on May 28. The following validators have confirmed support for Terra 2.0 Edge Protocol, ChainLayer, BTCSecure, Sigma, TerraBay, Nebula Protocol Astroport, Spectrum, One Planet, Anchor, Sigma, Nexus, Nebula, Coinhall, Prism, and Random Earth. Since Terra 2.0 is a new chain, not a fork, Terra Classic’s dApps will need to be restarted on the new chain.
What is the price status of Terra Classic?
With the new network, the Terra page on data platforms has also changed. At the time of writing, Terra Classic (LUNC) is changing hands at $0.0001285, up 1.72 percent, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Ahead of today’s launch, the administration voted to rename the original network to “Terra Classic”, whose tokens are now called LUNA Classic (LUNC) to position the newly launched Terra 2.0 as the mainnet. Unlike the others, the new Terra chain exists without an algorithmic stablecoin and only comes with LUNA with a total fixed supply of 1 billion coins. These LUNA 2.0 tokens will be traded separately from the original LUNA Classic tokens, whose supply is more than 6.5 trillion.
The most notable aspect of today’s launch is the airdrop of new LUNA coins to Terra stakeholders on the Classic chain. They are allocated to receive 70% or (700 million) of the total LUNA 2.0 token supply. According to an official announcement, the amount of LUNA 2.0 airdrop each person receives will vary depending on whether these tokens were held before or after the UST diverges from the US dollar.
