Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi has denied rumors that it will merge with Poloniex.
The company stated that the news that it will merge with the Poloniex exchange does not reflect the truth.
Huobi Denies Merger Claims
Journalist Colin Wu claimed that Huobi and Poloniex exchanges would merge. He said that Tron founder Justin Sun also played a role in this merger.
Justin Sun is a name that has contributed to two exchanges. He was part of an investor group that bought Poloniex in 2019 and is currently an advisor at Huobi.
In an emailed statement, Huobi said:
“We would like to point out that the rumors that Huobi will soon merge with Polobiex are not true”
Founded in China in 2013 and one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in Asia, Huobi plans to expand its operations to the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Panama and the Bahamas.
