Ignite CEO Leaves After Jae Kwon’s Return

Ignite CEO Peng Zhong revealed that Jae Kwon has left the company following the transformation.

Zhong said in a statement on Twitter:

“Today is my last day on Ignite. Thank you for the friendship we shared while establishing this ecosystem. It was an honor to be a part of this team and community. I’ll miss you”

Ignite, one of the leading companies in the Cosmos ecosystem, was previously called Tendermint. Although the project was founded by Kwon in 2014, he left his post for another project in 2020. Zhong was appointed to fill the void left by Kwon.

Kwon announced earlier this year that he had decided to return to Tendermint and renamed the project. As a result, Tendermint changed its name to Ignite and the entire company was rebranded.

Zhong said Ignite will focus on promoting “the emergence of new products in Cosmos technology.”

However, Zhong’s departure has led to various speculations about Ignite’s future.
