Worldwide steps continue to be taken in the field of artificial intelligence. However, US President Joe Biden will meet with artificial intelligence experts at the San Francisco meeting to talk about the dangers.
Joe Biden exchanged ideas on artificial intelligence (AI) with a group of Silicon Valley experts during campaign fundraising events in California on June 20. President Biden met with at least eight experts, including renowned researchers and AI security experts. The focus of the discussion was the Biden administration’s “commitment to seize opportunities and manage the risks of AI.”
According to the Associated Press, attendees include Jim Steyer, founder of Common Sense Media, Tristan Harris, co-founder of Center for Humane Technology, Fei-Fei Li, co-director of Stanford University’s Human-Centered AI Institute, Algorithmic Justice League. Joy Buolamwini, the founder of the Khan Institute, and Sal Khan, the founder of the Khan Institute. This group is noted for its individual members, known for their education, policy, safety, and harm reduction efforts.
President Biden met with experts during a series of discussions at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on June 20. The event was broadcast on the official White House YouTube channel.
At a hearing in the US Senate recently, experts such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, IBM chief privacy and trust officer Christina Montgomery, and New York University’s Gary Marcus discussed AI policies. In his statement, Altman stated that he believes the US government should establish a federal regulatory agency for the emerging AI sector. Marcus agreed, while IBM’s Montgomery disagreed, saying Congress should take a more surgical approach to AI governance.
